Recently, my husband and I took a trip to London. We had a fantastic time – and did a lot of the usual touristy things: London Eye, Tower of London, Parliament, etc. We really wanted to do classic English things too. My dear friend Theresa and her husband accompanied us to tea at the Savoy Hotel and it was an event we’ll never forget. If you ever have the chance – I highly recommend it. Afterward, we went for drinks.
I’ve had gin before. I have certainly had a gin and tonic before. However, I have never had a “ginducation” before. I had no idea how many different types of gin there – and the amazing different subtleties among them. Some have more floral notes – and some have more earthy tones. Also – I thought tonic was just tonic. Again, I was wrong. Choosing a really good gin and pairing it with a really good tonic yields – well, what you’d think: an amazing cocktail!
So here is my recommendation: Bloom London Dry Gin with Fever Tree Aromatic Tonic. The bartender dropped in a slice of blood orange and small bundle of mint. It was heaven in a glass. And it just might be the elixir you need to muddle your way through a busy Thanksgiving holiday gathering!
Cheers!
Sounds yummy!!! I love Fever Tree Tonic- but have never had the aromatic version- plus the mint and blood orange- sounds perfect! Thanks.
Oo can’t wait to try that!! I too never knew that finer tonic water existed until a friend made me a Tequonic (Tequila, Fever-Tree Tonic and half a lime). It’s going to be my new summer drink!! ❤️
